Introduction
Applying window tint is a great way to protect your vehicle’s interior, and it makes your car look sexy as hell. Here’s what you need to know before starting this project.
Protect the glass.
Before you tint your windows, you’ll want to make sure they’re clean. Cleaning the glass will help remove any dirt or debris that could cause bubbles in your tint and make it look cloudy. To clean the glass, first pour a small amount of mild cleaner onto a soft cloth and wipe down all sides of the window. Then use another clean part of the cloth or paper towels to dry away any excess moisture on both sides of each window (including those inside). Let everything dry completely before applying any film or spray-on tints since they won’t stick properly if there’s any moisture left behind from cleaning products like Windex or Goo Gone!
Clean the glass.
Before you do anything else, you need to clean the windows. Use a clean cloth and window cleaner or water to wipe down the glass. If there are any streaks left after wiping, use another cloth with a little bit of soap on it; then rinse both sides with clean water again so that no soap remains on the glass before proceeding.
Now that you’ve got a clean surface, let’s move onto tinting!
Apply the tint.
Now that you’ve measured, cut and cleaned your windows, it’s time to apply the tint. Start by peeling off the backing paper from each side of the window film. Then position one end of the film on top of your windshield and carefully wrap it around to cover all four corners. Repeat this process with all four sides of your vehicle’s windows (and doors if applicable).
Once you’ve got everything covered in film, use a squeegee to remove any excess air bubbles or wrinkles from under each piece of tinted glass before applying heat to set them into place permanently
Remove excess film.
You should remove excess film with a heat gun. If you don’t have one, you can use a hair dryer instead–but be careful not to damage the tint! A razor blade or exacto knife may also be used for this purpose but is not recommended due to risk of damage.

- Clean the glass before applying tint. Tinting film has an adhesive backing, but it won’t stick properly if there is dirt or grease on the surface of your window. Use a clean cloth to wipe away smudges and fingerprints from inside and outside of each window before applying any tinting product.
- Remove excess film from edges by peeling off slowly with a razor blade or sharp knife (never use scissors). This will prevent unsightly bubbles in your film that can occur when removing excess material from around corners or curves in your vehicle’s side windows, which is common if you don’t trim this off before installing new window tints onto older vehicles with rounded shapes like convertibles or vans/SUVs where curved corners may not be perfectly straight due to wear-and-tear over time since they were manufactured originally back when cars were made using different methods than today’s newer technologies offer us today so expect some imperfections here but don’t worry about these minor details too much because most people won’t notice anyway unless someone points them out specifically so just relax–keep calm–breathe deep breaths into those nostrils–relaxed now? Good job!
